Community Engagement
The Independent Special Interlocutor prioritizes engagement with First Nations, Inuit and Métis Survivors, Elders, families, and communities and acknowledges Survivors for raising public awareness about the truths of unmarked burials of children who died at Indian Residential Schools. Over the course of the Mandate, communities may engage with the work of the Independent Special Interlocutor in a variety of ways:
- Participate by attending one or more National Gatherings
- Observe and stay informed by watching the livestream of one or more National Gathering on the OSI Facebook page
- Observe and stay informed by following the OSI on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn
- Observe and stay informed by reading OSI Reports, including Summary Reports from each National Gathering
- Participate by sharing information about the work of the OSI with your communities
- Request a community visit by contacting OSI-BIS
